Trish Uhl is certifiable. It's a fact - with her list of geeky technical certifications, certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), and as a Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP). With over 15 years experience in the learning & performance industry, Trish is a 'Jill of all trades' given her variety of skills in project management, facilitation, instructional design, ILT course development, technical training, e-Learning, and change management. Trish's very most favourite thing to do in the whole wide world is to help people and organizations get from A to Z -- getting them ready, willing and able to use new processes and tools. As an officer on the Chicagoland Chapter, ASTD (CCASTD) Board of Directors, Trish has organized and managed area events such as the CCASTD Learning Technologies Conference & Exposition and Tech-or-Treat. She is the author of Tech Talk with Trish, a monthly column in the CCASTD UPDATE. She is a frequent speaker on many learning & performance topics, including professional certification, and can often be found presenting at ASTD chapters far and wide, as well as at other professional events. Trish's career has included mucking stalls, flipping burgers, developing
commercially sold software, managing enterprise-wide learning initiatives, and
babysitting. She has held such noteworthy positions as Senior Application
Specialist, Quality Assurance Specialist, Project Manager, Multimedia Product
Manager, and Aunt Trish. She has experience consulting in IT, operations and human resources process improvement in industries such as manufacturing, telecommunications, legal, and staffing. Trish's very first professional certification was as a British Horse Society Instructor (BHSI) where she trained her students in the art of dressage. She is now an ASTD Competency Model evangelist and provides coaching to CPLP candidates worldwide. Trish and her husband live with their three unruly cats in the wilds of the western suburbs outside of Chicago.
